한국, 2027년 개고기 금지 전에 개고기 농가에 대한 보상 발표
한국 정부는 목요일, 재정 원조 에 개 농부 식용으로 사육되고 있는 약 50만마리의 개의 이전과, 그 사업의 폐쇄를, 개고기 금지 2027년.
의 농업부 2027년 금지 전에 농장을 폐쇄하기로 동의한 농가는 “개 1마리당 22만5000원(169달러)에서 60만원”의 보상을 받을 자격이 있다고 말했다.
“식용으로 사육되고 있는 개의 현재 개체수 약 46만6000마리를 적극 줄이기 위해 농가에게 자발적인 사육제한을 장려할 예정”이라고 농림수산성은 성명에서 말했다.

한국 국회는 올 1월 식육용 개 사육, 도살, 판매를 금지하는 획기적인 법안을 통과했다.
개고기는 한국 요리의 전통적인 부분이며, 활동가들은 한때는 100만 마리의 개가 개고기 거래를 위해 도살되었다고 추정하고 있지만, 최근에는 애완동물을 키우는 한국인이 늘어나면서 개고기의 소비량은 대폭 감소하고 있다.
